What is KIFYC? Your way to the UK

Would you like to study abroad? KIFYC is the place. In collaboration with the British Council, the NCUK Organization and Kuwait College of Science and Technology, offers the opportunity of studying in one of the top universities in the UK. The center is designed with NCUK university partners to prepare international students for first year entry to undergraduate and post-graduate courses. 

Its purpose is to help bridge the gap between a student's local qualification and starting a university degree. 

  • IFY: The International Foundation Year (Undergraduate)
  • PMP: The Pre-Master Program (Post-graduate)

The 16 NCUK Universities offer students from Kuwait a wide range of study options. Students who pass their qualification are guaranteed a place at the NCUK Universities. The entry criteria for each of our universities varies that student placement depends on the academic performance. International Foundation Year (IFY)

The IFY is a modular 30-week course that prepares students for first-year entry into leading UK universities, by providing them with the knowledge and skills to enter and excel in their undergraduate studies. The course consists of a combination of study and IT skills, English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and academic content to prepare students for their undergraduate studies. The IFY program is offered at Kuwait College of Science and Technology (KCST) in which to cover the NCUK International Foundation Year qualification in Kuwait, in the following majors: 

  1. Engineering 
  2. Business
  3. Medicine

Pre-Master Program (PMP)

The PMP, is a modular of 18 to 27-week, designed to accommodate degree graduates with varying levels of English Language ability in order to prepare graduates of recognised universities1 for study on specified courses at postgraduate masters or equivalent level at NCUK member institutions. This program aims to enhance the English language ability of graduates to a level sufficient to enable them to communicate and study effectively and confidently at postgraduate level at a Western university, as well as to provide students with the necessary personal and key skills to enable them to develop as independent, autonomous learners including the demonstrated ability to be able to plan a significant individual research project. The program is open for different majors:
